FAQ

What is Bitcoin dominance?+

It is Bitcoin's market capitalisation as a percentage of the total crypto market cap. It shows how much of the money in crypto sits in BTC specifically.

What does rising or falling dominance mean?+

Rising dominance usually means capital is rotating into Bitcoin — often during uncertainty, when investors step back from riskier altcoins. Falling dominance is often associated with an “altcoin season”, when money spreads to the rest of the market. It describes flows, not a buy signal.

Are stablecoins included?+

Yes — stablecoins count towards total market cap, so their growth mechanically lowers Bitcoin dominance even if BTC's price is unchanged. Worth remembering when comparing periods.
